To the men out there who don't believe in the power of a good v-neck--albeit one with a decidedly Rugby take--we give you Paul Newman. Taken in 1965, this shot shows Newman in his prime, and simultaneously provides a 30second lesson in preppy, gentlemanly dressing, done our way. Correct us if we're wrong but that sweater he's got on looks to be made of fleece instead of a more traditional wool--a signature Rugby twist on a classic. It's even got the cut of a classic cricket sweater, in lieu of the more typical slim cut that v-necks tend to take on. Nice and unexpected. You know what we always say: study the classics, write your own rules. Newman--so ahead of his time.
