L&E Oyster Bar:
Oysters are always a must-order during those long weekends of summer, but the newly opened L&E Oyster Bar in LA's Silver Lake neighborhood is aiming to make that a year-long tradition. Offering up fresh options from both coasts and a carefully selected beer and wine list, this spot is looking like our new LA go-to. Add in some nautical touches to the decor and we're sold. Visit L&E Oyster Bar, now open at 1637 Silver Lake Blvd., (323) 660-2255 for reservations.

Tennis, "Young & Old":
Denver-based band Tennis is quickly making it onto our regular playlist rounds. The husband and wife duo, who met in a philosophy class in college, started making music together after returning from a seven month sailing expedition, and we're glad they did. Produced by Patrick Carney of The Black Keys, their latest album "Young & Old" has a bit of a Best Coast feel with their upbeat indie pop sound. Download it asap when the album drops this Valentine's Day and prepare to tap your feet. iTunes.com

"That Woman: The Life of Wallis Simpson, Duchess of Windsor" by Anne Sebba:
Aside from Kate Middleton, there's another royal lady who's been getting attention as of late. Wallis Simpson has gotten face time in recent films The King's Speech and Madonna's W.E., and now she's got a new biography to add to the list. And as the woman who caused the former King Edward VIII to abdicate his throne in order to marry her, there's quite a bit of fascinating material to cover. Pre-order now on Amazon.com.

Juergen Teller at the Lehmann Maupin Gallery:
Most will recognize Teller for his specific style of commercial work, but Lehmann Maupin gallery's new exhibit showcases a more personal side to the photographer. With three different series on display, patrons will get a variety of styles, from shots of Kristen McMenamy inside architectural icon Carlo Mollino's home, to portraits of Vivienne Westwood and William Eggleston. The exhibition starts today through March 17, at 201 Chrystie Street, New York, New York.

Designs of the Year Exhibit:
Hailed as the "Oscars of the design world," the Design Museum's Design Awards exhibit goes on display this week with a freshly announced list of nominees for 2012 spanning seven different categories. Within the areas of architecture, digital, fashion, and furniture (to name a few), the London-based museum is honoring some of the most innovative and progressive designers from around the world. Look out for the winners to be announced this April, and in the meantime, check out some of the creativity yourself over on Shad Thames, Greater London, SE1 2YD. Visit designmuseum.org for more info.

Goodness:
Former model Elettra Wiedemann's pop-up restaurant, GOODNESS, open only during New York Fashion Week, is getting tons of buzz, and rightly so. She's got some major food names participating, including featured chefs Mario Batali and Julian Medina, who will be putting together daily menus with a focus on healthy, locally-sourced eats. We're placing our reservations now. Stop in at 2 Columbus Circle from Feb 11-14.
