POP!!!
Pop. Double pop. Just do it!
Never pop it. Ever.
personally i like the kinda popped messy
Well I must say I dont pop...at all cant really deal with it since it has become a sign of the really undressed and therefore I simply dont want to pop and cant pop. Its not hot And for you swedes I speak of the Partillejohnnys of Gothenburg.
But hey Im sure its a totally other thing in the US!
You dress to your style. If you feel in the mood to pop it then pop it. Style is a matter of confidence so just do what you do.
there really shouldnt be a debate over collar popping. people should just wear their shirt the way they want and not care about what is considered cool. that is what being preppy is about wearing what you want and how you want.
the fact is the most classy most educated the most preppy and the top 1 do NOT pop. Popping is tasteless and if someone were truly preppy one would know that by their personality. It is impossible to just dress preppy and thus be one. If the countless upper middle class public schoolers would discover this hollister abercrombie and american eagle would finally be out of business! what makes someone preppy is not their clothes but who they are. any real prep would know this
Pop it or drop it.
The collar’s there for a reason.
Go ahead and pop away again now that the masses have dropped thre trend. Real preps wear polos instead of t-shirts and the collars should be popped! The people who don’t like popped collars don’t have to wear them and leave everyone else alone.
pop
You should only pop a classic POLO when the situation calls for it. EX Golf course - Keep sun off neck. Other than that it almost looks like your trying too hard. One of these rugby shirts would probably look okay popped... but a classic POLO looks better down.

L M
ii beg to differ if you pop in la you will be made fun of because you look too preppy
they dont like preps
they dont appreciate them
and they certainly dont know anything about them
so DONT pop in L.A.
It all depends on the attitude you carry with the popped collar. If you are not easy going then obviously the popped collar is going to make you seem stuck up. It’s also about what city you are in. In more high-fashion cities or cities that follow trends the popped collar is acceptable. For ex La Houston New York ...
got the prep vibe? great. show some class. know your surroundings be the prep that doesn’t look like a jerk. love the comment that says east coast effortless. pop that collar. leave it low...if you’re the prep you think you are the vibe will flow.
i only pop when it’s a casual pop not straight up...or when layering with a sweater or other shirt...
Popping was standard ops among preppies until it got into the hands of the masses. Now it’s a bit gauche. Girls can still pop in certain instances but never on guys. Unless you want to look like you work at Abercrombie and live in Jersey woof.
I think. if you you pop your colour half way not fully its ok. Not fully it’s trendy.
The thing to do is to Pop the collar and be very preppy.
Obviously poppage suggests that you went to prep school or an Ivy League university. I agree however that it has become far too ubiquitous. The popped collar should not be worn with irony but with playful élan. One wants sprezzatura not asphinctersayswhat?
Agree that it’s really all about who you are and the vibe you give off- e.g. crunchyspikey haired orangey tanners lerrrv to pop their collars but never should. However those with a little breeding and maybe a madras or seersucker accent or 2 should pop away. Think the multi-polomulti pop look is dunzo though. Very ’04. Bottom line popping should look East Coast and effortless.
if you are attending any respectful liberal arts school in new england or teaching at one for that matter - popping should never happen! it makes you look dumb and actually quite silly. if you want to show off your ability to dress well then do it with class sophistication and style. any prepubescent twattle could pop a collar.
Over here in London popping is hot ’cause it makes me look even more French!
But if you’re more comfortable not popping you’ll actually look better that way.
all i have to say is
ballers pop collars.
Amen Crew boy. I understand that collar popping is not for everyone and that’s fine but this really isn’t the wesbite to be voicing outright hatred for a prep staple. Also to NO The My New Haircut video is not a valid argument against collar popping. I went to college in New Jersey for two years and spiky haired collar popping armani exchange wearing guidos are not preps and just because they do it doesn’t mean we should stop.
i usually just cut the collar off or spill food on myself all the time. i also have chinos.
the best way to pop one’s collar is just leave it be when you pull it on... dont fuss with it and let it kinda do its own thing that way it secures a more relaxed look
if youre going to pop your collar make sure ur comfortable with it. otherwise youll look like a poser
if you have to ask don’t.
Youtube My New Haircut for an overriding argument against colla poppin
ahhaha tripp ur right theyr just afraid to show their face and frankly idk what theyr doing on this site if htey arent into the popped colla’’
Once a collar popper always a collar popper- pop away friends pop away!
Anyone else notice the people that say you shouldn’t pop your collar only do it anonymously?
Here’s a compromise breakthrough the casually half-popped collar! -
I only pop on the golf course
Preppy handbook says pop it. Make your collar defy gravity!!
cant beat 10 polos at once httpgood-times.webshots.comphoto2921472540087678487SbzinA
where i live popped collar = douchebag
popping collars is dead. just like pink shirts on guys. it had its moment in the sun but now it is gone and hopefully forgotten.
i pop if the shirt fits right and yeah its definately a confidence thing.
Pop! It is a statement and adds just a bit more flair to a timeless look. There’s nothing wrong with down but if you want to go the extra mile popping goes a long way.
i say pop it the more polos the better ..httpgood-times.webshots.comphoto2921472540087678487SbzinA

except if your from the W coast then you dont have any business poppin yo’ collar you poser
I believe you can do both depending the settinghowever if I were forced to choose just one option I will go for the pop the collar!
never ever ever pop your collar... once people saw it on tv and saw kanye west and etc wearing it like that people have been popping like no tomorrow and frankly it looks like your trying to hard. Leave it to the models.
I love popped collars.
Popped always. Prep Life.
ninja i will pop yo colla!
there is a time and a place for a pop knowing where and when is a feeling one should just get... but i am always down for a good popped collar.
Without a doubt pop. But you have to have to confidence and face structure to pull it off. But for those who can it presents a very desirable image. Mix in a great smile and girls go crazy for it.
The pulling off of the Pop is all in the confidence one carries! A guy should look comfortable in his clothes like he’s not trying too hard. If you don’t think popping is right for you anyway don’t bother because you’ll just look awkward.
The Pop is hot! If it’s ruffled & accidental looking its only that much more chill!
I love a guy who can pull off the popped collar! I think the key is to not have it be toooooo perfect. It should look casual and relaxed. Props to the guy on the left for the double pop!

POP!
