SEERSUCKER: The End of the Lines
Miscellany
It's been quite a run. Your seersucker has stood by you through clam bakes, crab feasts, polo matches, the Kentucky Derby and about 25 weddings this summer. But, as convention dictates, the ole blue and whites must go into hibernation after this weekend and you have only another three days with summer’s textile of choice. Here’s our guide for making the most of seersucker’s last hurrah, wherever you may be spending summer’s preppiest long weekend.
Nantucket: If there is one place on this planet where it is acceptable (nay, encouraged) to wear head-to-toe seersucker, regardless of age or gender, it’s Nantucket. Ladies, don’t stop with the traditional blue; go for layers in contrasting seersucker colors (green! pink! yellow!) for summer’s final clam bake. WOMEN’S STYLE: Adventures in Knee Socks
Style
While on set for the fall collection shoot, Jen Gerson, our women’s fashion editor, fell head-over-heels in love with the vibrant knee socks she discovered on our models. Check out her style diary after the jump.

SHUTTLECOCKY: Badminton Takes Minnesota
Sports
Nadal and Federer may be throwing down in Flushing this week, but we’ve discovered a new racket-sport capital emerging 1200 miles away: Orono, Minnesota. Earlier this month, the Twin City suburb played host to the first annual Minneapolis Badminton Club (MBC) Invitational Mixed-Doubles Championship. The MBC, a venerable men's club founded way back in April, requires rigorous participation (this one annual event) and a strict dress code for their members: Whites only, club polos and belts and a pre-approval tribunal for those hoping to wear colored wristbands. For the Championships, the 32 members carefully chose female counterparts to join them in battle on Club President Matthew Hemsley's lawn. Couples fought it out, jumping, diving, and swatting their way through to the finals.
